Rash
発疹 (hasshin)
A rash is a change in the skin's appearance — including redness, blistering, swelling, or texture changes — often covering multiple areas. Causes include allergic reactions, eczema, contact dermatitis, viral infections (chicken pox, measles), and autoimmune diseases. A widespread rash with fever and difficulty breathing may indicate a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) requiring emergency care.
Dermatology clinics (皮膚科, hifuka) are widely distributed across Japan and often do not require referrals.
