泌尿器科 (hinyōki-ka)

Urology (泌尿器科, hinyōki-ka) is the specialty that deals with diseases of the urinary tract in both sexes and the male reproductive system. It treats conditions such as urinary tract infections, kidney stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), bladder cancer, and erectile dysfunction. Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing for prostate cancer screening is available in Japan's annual checkup programs.

Urological clinics in Japan are accessed directly; BPH affecting urinary flow is among the most common conditions treated in older men.
