Otolaryngology (ENT)

耳鼻咽喉科 (jibi-inkōka)

Otolaryngology, commonly called ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), covers disorders of the ear, nose, throat, sinuses, and upper airways. In Japan, ENT clinics (耳鼻咽喉科, jibi-inkōka) are frequently visited for allergic rhinitis (hay fever), sinusitis, otitis media, vertigo, and tonsillitis. ENT clinics are abundant and typically accessible without referral.

During Japan's spring pollen season, ENT clinics experience very high patient volumes; arriving early in the morning helps minimize waiting time.
