Throat
喉 (nodo)
The throat (pharynx and larynx) is the passageway for air and food, and contains the vocal cords. Common conditions include pharyngitis (sore throat), tonsillitis, and laryngitis. Throat complaints are among the most frequent reasons people visit clinics in Japan, particularly during cold and flu season in winter.
Throat conditions are treated in internal medicine or otolaryngology (ENT) clinics throughout Japan.
