Chest Pain
胸痛 (kyōtsū)
Chest pain is discomfort or pain in the chest area that can range from a dull ache to sharp stabbing sensations. While musculoskeletal causes are common, chest pain can signal serious cardiac events such as angina or myocardial infarction (heart attack). Sudden crushing chest pain, especially with shortness of breath, sweating, or arm pain, requires immediate emergency care.
Call 119 immediately for chest pain resembling a heart attack; do not drive yourself to the hospital in Japan for cardiac emergencies.
