Bone
骨 (hone)
Bones form the skeletal framework of the body, providing structure, protecting organs, anchoring muscles, and storing calcium. The adult human body has 206 bones. Fractures are common after falls; Japan's aging population has a high rate of osteoporosis-related fractures, particularly of the hip and wrist.
Bone injuries and diseases are managed in the orthopedics department (整形外科, seikei geka).
