What it means

The Second Lowest Cost Silver Plan (SLCSP) is the marketplace benchmark plan used to calculate the maximum premium tax credit you are eligible to receive. The IRS and marketplace use the SLCSP premium for your area, age, and household size when determining your advance premium tax credit. This figure appears in column B of IRS Form 1095-A, which you receive after enrolling in marketplace coverage. You must use the SLCSP amount when completing Form 8962 to reconcile your premium tax credit on your federal tax return. If column B on your 1095-A is blank or shows zero, use the HealthCare.gov SLCSP lookup tool.
