What it means
The full premium is the total monthly cost of a health insurance plan before any employer contribution, government tax credit, or cost-sharing reduction is applied. When you have employer-sponsored insurance, your employer typically pays a large portion and you pay the rest through payroll deduction. If you lose your job and elect COBRA continuation coverage, you must pay the full premium—your share plus the employer share—plus a 2 percent administrative fee.
