What it means
CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program) provides low-cost health coverage to children in families that earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but cannot afford private insurance. Coverage includes doctor visits, immunizations, hospital care, dental, and vision. Some states extend CHIP coverage to pregnant women.
