健康診査受診券 (Kenkō shinsatsu jushin-ken)
A voucher issued by municipalities or insurers that entitles the holder to receive a subsidized or free health screening at a participating clinic. These coupons may be issued for general annual checkups, cancer screenings, or pregnancy checkups. Foreign residents enrolled in national health insurance often receive these by post annually; unused coupons typically expire at the fiscal year end.
Pregnancy health checkup coupons (boshi kenko techo related) are issued after registering a pregnancy at the local ward office and cover up to 14 prenatal visits.
