骨折 (kossetsu)

A fracture is a broken bone caused by trauma, stress, or conditions such as osteoporosis. In Japan, fractures are treated in orthopedic departments (seikei geka). An X-ray confirms the break, and treatment may involve casting, splinting, or surgery depending on severity. Japan's national health insurance covers fracture treatment. If you suspect a fracture after an injury, immobilize the affected limb and seek medical attention promptly rather than attempting to move the injury.

Orthopedic clinics (seikei geka) are widely available throughout Japan and can handle most fracture cases without requiring a visit to a large hospital emergency room.
