Toyama 富山県
Toyama Prefecture borders the Sea of Japan between Ishikawa and Niigata, flanked by the Japanese Alps to the south. The prefecture is known for precision manufacturing, pharmaceutical production, and the Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route. Foreign residents are concentrated in manufacturing towns and include significant Vietnamese and Indonesian populations.
Healthcare landscape
Toyama University Hospital and Toyama Prefectural Central Hospital are the primary specialist-care facilities. The pharmaceutical industry cluster gives the prefecture an above-average concentration of healthcare-adjacent research facilities.
