Nagano 長野県
Nagano Prefecture is the fourth-largest in Japan by area, encompassing the heart of the Japanese Alps and numerous highland resort towns. The prefecture hosted the 1998 Winter Olympics and continues to attract international visitors and residents in its ski resort areas. Manufacturing towns in the Ina Valley have a significant Latin American resident population, particularly Brazilian and Peruvian communities.

Shinshu University Hospital in Matsumoto is the prefecture's leading academic medical center. Nagano Municipal Hospital and regional facilities serve the prefecture's distributed population. Nagano Intercultural Center offers consultation in over 20 languages and is the main coordination point for multilingual medical support across the prefecture.

Public health center (保健所)
Nagano Prefecture operates public health centers (保健所, hokenjo) across its municipalities. Public health centers manage infectious disease surveillance, maternal and child health programs, and mental health consultation. Contact the prefectural health department or your municipal office to locate the nearest hokenjo.
