Akita 秋田県
Akita Prefecture lies on Tohoku's Sea of Japan coast and is known for its sake brewing tradition, Namahage Festival, and one of Japan's oldest demographic profiles. The foreign resident population is relatively small but includes growing numbers from Southeast Asian countries through technical training and care worker programs. Akita City is the administrative and medical hub.

Public health centers manage infectious disease surveillance, maternal and child health programs, and mental health consultation.
